The song says, “It’s the most wonderful time of the year!” Why? What is so great about Christmas and the New Year?
After much frustration thinking about the over-commercialization of Christmas time, the stressful message sent to us all about giving and receiving gifts, children being manipulated with the “naughty list”, so-on and so-forth, etc. etc. I was finally able to come to a point of complete rest in which I was able to forget about the complication of the holiday and consider the message that is behind it all. I asked:
What if I were the Christ, child of the Living God? What if Christmas Eve was, is and will be the eve of the birth of Christ, as me? What if the Christ isn’t a special person, but what is special within a person? What if this specialty is the Presence within me and as me through the love I share? What if that love has been planted in me directly by Life (God)?
Ask yourself these questions and truly ponder what it might be like. “What if I were the Christ, child of the Living God? What if Christmas Eve was, is and will be the eve of the birth of Christ, as me? What if the Christ isn’t a special person, but what is special within a person? What if this specialty is the Presence within me and as me through the love I share? What if that love has been planted in me directly by Life (God)?
Furthermore, What if they, anyone you can think of, were the Christ, child of the Living God? What if Christmas Eve was, is and will be the eve of the birth of the Christ, as them? What if the Christ isn’t a special person, but what is special within a person? What if this specialty is the Presence within them and as them through the love they share? What if that love has been planted in them directly by Life (God)?
What if Christmas is an opportunity for each of us to remember we have a gift to give to the world and that gift is the light (knowledge) of who we are?
The Holiday season is such a wonderful time in the world because so much of humanity seeks to give and receive love. We parched for it! But what if we have forgotten or fail to see that all days are holidays, all times are sacred times, every religion holds truth, each tradition is sacred,
and that it is in the simple sharing of love that we make our beliefs come alive, and our dreams come true? What if the long, lost and forgotten message of Christmas is about letting the Christ in us offer love to all humankind and to open the door of God’s kingdom to every soul.
So then, we must ask: What if Gods Kingdom isn’t a place far away but a place within us, which we then bring to earth by the life we live, the smile we give and the love we send? It is true that love is the only way and Love is born every day and at every moment, always, in and through humans. Yes, that means you! So, stop wasting time making resolutions to feel better about yourself and just realize the Truth: you are Great! You are Awesome! Then, you will accomplish anything you desire this year, every year, in every moment from now on. Your greatness will then be evidently manifest.
This is the Truth of you and every person you meet, whether you know it or act like it, or not. But, if you will take this knowledge into the New Year, each new month, each new week, each new day, each new hour and each new minute, your life will change.
